Port Blair (About this sound pronunciation (help·info)) is the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a union territory of India situated in the Bay of Bengal. It is the headquarters of the Andaman and Nicobar Police. It is also the headquarters for the Indian district of South Andaman and the only notified town of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Port Blair is also the local administrative sub-division (tehsil) of the islands. It is the headquarters of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, the first integrated tri-command of the armed forces of India. This is the entry point for visiting Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Port Blair is connected with mainland India by both air and sea. Though it is a 2 hours’ flight from mainland India to Port Blair, but it takes 3-4 days by sea to reach Chennai, Kolkata or Vishakhapatnam. Air connectivity to Port Blair is available from Chennai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Bhubaneshwar and Vishakhapatnam. All flights bound to Andaman and Nicobar Islands are land in Port Blair’s Veer Savarkar International Airport. Sea connectivity is available from Chennai, Kolkata and Vishakhapatnam are embarked in Haddo Wharf. It is home to several museums and a major naval base INS Jarawa of the Indian Navy, along with sea and air bases of the Indian Coast Guard and the Indian Air Force. Port Blair is also famous for the historic Cellular Jail and other small islands like Ross, Viper etc. which were once home to British colonists.
Day 1: Arrival at Port Blair Airport & departure to Havelock Island by afternoon ferry to Havelock Island (54 kms by sea from Port Blair). Enjoy your afternoon at the World Famous Radha Nagar Beach (Beach number 7). Overnight stay at respective Hotel / Resort at Havelock Island
Day 2: Day at Leisure / proceed to Kala Pathar by road. Get a glimpse of various Resorts & Dive centers enroute. Overnight in resort at Havelock Island.
Day 3: Entire day at leisure.Overnight stay At Resort (Optional tour on direct payment basis -Depart from Havelock jetty to Swiftlet Rock (1 ½ hours). Snorkel around Swiftlet Rock – the best snorkelling site in Andaman for experienced snorkelers. Return back to resort in Havelock.)
Day 4: Depart to Neil Island by inter-island ferry (36 kms by sea from Port Blair), an island with clear turquoise sea and white sand beaches. Check in to your hotel. Post breakfast visit Sitapur viewpoint. Then go to Bharatpur Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Andaman. You can take a ride in a glass bottomed boat to see under water corals and marine life (Optional – extra cost). Late afternoon visit the Laxmanpur Beach 2 to view the natural coral bridge and also go to LaxmanpurBeach1 to view the sunset. Evening free or at own. Overnight in Neil Island.
Day 5: After a leisure breakfast, check out from the hotel depart from Neil Island. Overnight Stay at Port Blair.
Day 6: Departure from Port Blair.
